Ally's Portrait Session

Ally loves gymnastics and since the Olympics just finished it was a lot of fun to photograph her in her element. For some of the portraits, I took inspiration from photographer Kevin Jairaj, who was one of a handful of photographers to shoot portraits of the Olympic athletes.

  

  

Palmer's First Birthday

I've been meaning do some personal posts, with photos I take in my own life. These photos are from my best friend's daughter's first birthday party. I've had the honor of photographing Palmer before she was born (maternity session), the day after she was born, and many other times since. (Click here to view older photos) She is one of those kids that makes you smile no matter what and it's a joy to see the way her father (my oldest friend) and her mother interact with her.

The day was a lot of fun! Palmer got to have a party, destroy an Elmo cake, open presents, and go swimming. When Matt started tossing her in the air while in the pool, I had to get my camera and set up an off-camera flash for a little photo fun. What's a wet neckstrap between friends? (yes I was in the pool with the camera)

There are many more photos, including others with family, but I just wanted to post a few. Happy Birthday Palmer! Julia and I love you and can't wait to keep documenting your growth.
